Excavating is pretty straightforward. Any treasure we find is stored in that box next to the tent. Don’t forget.

EXCAVATOR BY FOREST ENTRANCE NPC

The area beyond here is called the Sleeping Forest. It is said that those who enter when the forest slumbers become disoriented and lose their way. Once they’ve gone in, they may never make it back out… A girl in pink and a man in black entered earlier, though. Do you think they’re all right?

If Cloud tries to enter the forest, he’ll wander down the path endlessly until he finally decides to turn back.

EXCAVATOR TO THE RIGHT NPC

We use the latest technology to discover what’s buried underground. We create artificial earthquakes, using explosives, and then analyse the reflected oscillations.

EXCAVATOR ON THE GROUND NPC

Apparently, the Sleeping Forest can be awoken with a Lunar Harp. They say the forest opens a path once it’s awake. Believe it or not, a girl in a pink dress went through using a Lunar Harp not long ago.

The bomb can be detonated underground by pressing [Square]. Each staff member will calculate the tremors and look in the direction of the buried item. In other words, the excavation area is where the staff members’ line of sight intersects. Move to the excavation area and press [Square] to confirm the dig.

EXCAVATOR NPC

All right, we’ll dig in that area. Anything we find will be placed in the village treasure box overnight.

​

The site goes dark and a lone excavator digs in the directed area. The next morning the lid of the treasure chest by Excavator Sitting In Chair NPC is closed.

With the Lunar Harp, Cloud and the group enter the Sleeping Forest, it begins to glow different colors of red and green.
